The Corporate Affairs and Intellectual Property Office (“CAIPO”) has last week advised that it is seeking to gather information from all companies and societies with restricted liability in relation to their record keeping obligations under the Companies Act, Cap. 308 of the Laws of Barbados (“the Act”). CAIPO has also advised that this survey is being administered pursuant to Section 175 (5) of the Act.
The purpose of the questionnaire is to determine the adequacy of the internal compliance systems and procedures instituted by companies in order to satisfy the requirements of the Act and allow them to gauge Barbados' position in relation to several international standards.
