To support its One Data Policy, Indonesia’s Ministry of Finance (MoF) has regulated an integrated single identification number for its tax administration services. It is set in MoF Regulation Number: 136 Year 2023, Amendment of 112/PMK.03/2022 (PMK) which was issued on July 8, 2022 by changing Tax ID Number (TIN / NPWP) into Residency ID Number (NIK).
The outlines of PMK are as follows:
As of July 14, 2022:
a. Every resident taxpayer will use their NIK as their NPWP
b. Non-resident taxpayer, an entity, and government agency will use new NPWP consisting of 16-digit number
