1.What is the best career advice you’ve received and why?
The best career advice I ever had was, “You never know till you try and never be afraid to take risks”. This advice has led me to various opportunities that I would not have thought of, multiple challenges, a sense of achievement that came with new roles and opportunities as well as the interesting people that I have met along this journey.2. How do you manage work-life balance?
With work-life balance, I ensure that I make time for the things that matter to me, such as an active lifestyle, family & friends, and travel. Being able to set aside downtime mentally and physically helps me recharge my batteries and provides the impetus to be a better, healthier, happier leader.
3. How do you keep employees engaged and motivated?
Employees need to see, hear and understand how their work contributes towards the company’s growth. By constantly reinforcing this message, this gives the team better clarity on the importance of their role and their contribution. If we can also understand what makes them tick and answer the “what’s in it for me” question, then we will be able to engage their interest, increase motivation and improve efficiencies and output. This also needs to be supported by companywide initiatives such as remote working tools and workspace redesign.
