1. How do you keep employees engaged and motivated?
As a woman in the Technology field, I have been fortunate enough to meet many successful leaders throughout my career. I have an open-door policy, and am always willing to take the extra steps needed to understand the challenges that my team face. I am a strong believer in “walk the talk and talk the walk”. By sharing some of my own experiences, it helps them to understand that if you are persistent, and don’t give up, you will succeed.
2. What is the best career advice you’ve received and why?
The best career advice I’ve received so far, is to have a goal or target and to stay focused. I would say you need to constantly stay current and prepare yourself for the future. Always remember the big picture, and think outside the box. Enjoy work, and do not ever feel you are stuck. There is always a door somewhere, you just need to relax and find that.
3. How do you manage work-life balance?
I like to practice yoga on the weekends. Unless we are in the middle of a project, or have something urgent, I don’t normally open my email on the weekends. I believe work-life balance is a state of mind. You need to be able to let go during non-work hours.
