1. How do you measure success, what does success means to you?
Success to me is having freedom, be it freedom of choice, freedom to express myself, and freedom from fear of pursuing things that matters to me. Without the unnecessary external and internal restrictions, we are able to achieve more, see and create value in everything that we do.
2. How do you keep employees engaged and motivated?
There is no one-size-fit-all approach to this. Through regular conversations exchange, coaching, understanding and appreciation, we are able to boost motivation. The hurdle we must cross is gaining their utmost trust to be able to open up to us truthfully. It’s a slow but rewarding process.
3. What is the best career advice you’ve received and why?I was blessed to have met a mentor when I was a fresh graduate joining the company. She, a director formerly from my company, shared with me that “The more we do, the more we learn.” With the more we learn, the more we earn. By earn, we do not mean monetary value, but more of the confidence, trust, and opportunities that we gain from the process of learning. Clichéd, but true.
