Why did you join Tricor?
Tricor acquired my company in June 2005, opening up a world of opportunity. I may be an employee, but I think like an entrepreneur. I love finding new ways for us to grow and improve as one firm. It’s the best of both worlds!
What is the best career advice you’ve received and why?
In this business, there is no shortcut to success. You need to crawl before you can walk and walk before you can run. Only by staying focused on your goals will you achieve them. No one is Superman, after all!
How do you measure success, what does success means to you?
Success is working well together as a team and recognizing the contributions of each individual. It’s not about the end result, but the enriching experience it takes to get there.
How do you keep employees engaged and motivated?
Empower people through trust and celebrate individual success as a team. I’m always open to new ideas and encourage colleagues to take calculated risks that can help them to grow their careers— and our company.
How do you manage work life balance?
I work hard and play hard. I seldom switch off, but when I do, I like to invest time in one of my many hobbies. You can’t be your best at work if you’re not taking care of your whole self— body and mind!
Share a person that has most influenced your career or life? And why?
I’ve had many mentors throughout my career, including my current colleagues. Everyone has something to teach, if you’re willing to listen.
