The potential benefits of flexible work are well-documented around the world. Emboldened by the trust of their employer, employees are more productive and happier. Employers retain their best talent for longer and generate stronger results. For Asia’s employers seeking a competitive edge in today’s talent market, flexible work is a trend too valuable to ignore.
Many employees across Asia seek to work flexibly, but access to these arrangements is not equal. According to one recent survey, only 2 in 5 employees in Asia have the option to work flexibly, with men more likely to benefit than women owing to their dominance in leadership roles. Despite this disparity, the two genders are aligned in the value they ascribe to flexibility: 1 in 3 men and women describe it as “very important”.
