 We have invited a distinguished speaker from Bursa Malaysia to share with the audience on the advantages of undertaking an IPO, its processes and requirements as well as the challenges that a company may face during the IPO journey and listing exercise. She will also talks about the differences for the three markets on Bursa Malaysia i.e. Main, ACE and LEAP. We have also lined up two Tricor professionals from our Strategic Business Advisory service line, to share with business owners and corporate managers on our experiences relating to Pre & Post IPO journey, as well as our experiences in working with business organisations for a productive IPO exercise.

Lim Su May

Su May was appointed by Bursa Malaysia Berhad (“Bursa Malaysia”) as Executive Vice President, Listing Development back in June 2019. Su May is responsible to develop and promote both primary and secondary listings & fund-raising activities on Bursa Malaysia as well as on the Labuan International Financial Exchange.

Prior to joining Bursa Malaysia, Su May was heading the Investment Banking Department at MUFG Bank (Malaysia) Berhad where she was responsible to help the Bank to diversify and grow its business in investment banking via debt capital markets products, securitization, project finance, export credit agency financing solutions as well as identifying opportunities of mergers and acquisitions targets to buy-side investors from Japan.

Su May began her career in investment banking in 1997 and brings with her more than twenty years of investment banking experience having served in senior positions in several Malaysian top financial institutions as well as Middle Eastern bank including CIMB and RHB.

Su May holds a Bachelor of Science (Economics) degree majoring in Economics and Management Studies from University of London.

 

Derek Lee

Derek Lee has over 30 years of experiences in strategic management, ERM, corporate governance, business continuity, business process enhancement, both ‘Pre & Post - IPO’ internal control advisory, and strategic internal audit.

He had the experience of working in a cross-functional commercial environment that cover the areas of finance & accounting, sales & marketing, procurement, warehousing & distribution, inventory, logistics, production, MIS/IT, orders processing, contracts, project implementation & human resources.

He has led and successfully completed many strategic, risk and controls advisory assignments in Malaysia, China, Singapore, Taiwan, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, and Myanmar for large private and public listed companies. Derek is also certified by the Institute of Internal Auditors Inc (USA) as an External Quality Assessor of Internal Audit Functions. Derek has been involved in training Board and senior level management on risk management, internal controls and corporate governance subjects.


Chang Ming Chew

Ming Chew has over 20 years of wide-ranging professional experiences that includes statutory audit, transaction reporting for IPO, share registration & IPO processing, internal audit, risk management, IT/cybersecurity advisory, operational risk and control review, financial due diligence, management consulting and corporate governance advisory.

He is currently serving a wide range of private & public listed companies; and multi-national clients for their outsource internal audit needs. These clients operates in varied industries including financial services, property development, engineering & construction, plantation, manufacturing, hotel & leisure, oil & gas, furniture, food & beverages, retail, pharmaceutical, logistics, information technology, and non-governmental organisations. Ming Chew is also actively involved in providing training on corporate liability to companies of various sizes from public listed to small & medium enterprises.

Ming Chew has also led his teams to execute internal control assessment of companies seeking IPO on Bursa Malaysia and Singapore Stock Exchange, and also conducted reviews and assessments on the state of corporate governance compliance for public companies listed on Bursa Malaysia. In those engagements, he has provided practicable solutions towards achieving compliance with the Malaysian Code on Corporate Governance.
